Most organisations apply for funding. This time, we are opening applications for the right partners.

Khaltsha Cycling Academy invites companies, foundations, and organisations to apply to become our main partner, or one of a small group of carefully chosen supporting partners. We need meaningful, ongoing financial support, but we are looking for more than a name on a sponsorship list.

We are looking for partners who understand the work, believe in it, and are ready to grow with it.

This is about sport, education and wellbeing

At Khaltsha, sport is not treated as an extra activity that only matters after the “real work” is done.

We believe sport is part of education, physical wellbeing and mental health. Cycling teaches discipline, courage, consistency and commitment. It helps young people build confidence in their bodies and trust in their own progress.

For our girls, cycling also means learning to move through Khayelitsha with greater safety, freedom and independence.

Through cycling lessons, structured training days, group rides and access to Zwift training bikes at our centre, the girls build fitness, technique and self-belief, one session at a time.

Khaltsha has never only been about bicycles

The bicycle is often the first thing people see. The deeper work happens around it.

Our centre is a safe after-school space where girls can complete homework, ask questions and receive support from Maths and English tutors. They get the kind of steady academic support that is not always available elsewhere.

That matters because opportunity does not come from one thing alone. It comes from safe spaces, trusted adults, structured learning, friendship, movement and consistency.

We are choosing partners with care

We are not simply asking whether an organisation can fund our work.

We also want to know:

  • Does your organisation understand why girls’ access to sport matters?

  • Do you believe education includes the body, mind and confidence?

  • Are you ready to support long-term growth, not only once-off visibility?

  • Can you respect the community, the girls and the pace of meaningful change?

A good partner will help us protect what makes Khaltsha special while giving the academy room to grow.

That support may help cover coaching, equipment, transport, tutoring, safe space operations, training tools and the daily work that keeps the programme consistent.

What partnership can make possible

With the right partners, Khaltsha can continue building a programme where girls are supported on and off the bike.

Partnership can help us:

  • Keep regular cycling lessons and group rides running

  • Maintain bikes and training equipment

  • Support indoor Zwift training at the centre

  • Provide academic support after school

  • Create a safer, more consistent space for girls to learn and grow

  • Open pathways to new experiences and future opportunities

This is the kind of work that needs people who will stay close to the mission.

Partnership helps create lasting spaces of belonging.

Applications are open

If your company, foundation or organisation believes in the power of sport, education and safe community spaces, we invite you to apply to become a key partner of Khaltsha Cycling Academy. Email our Head of Partnership and Fundraising, Raeesa Cassim, at Raeesa@khaltshacycles.co.za

We are building something careful, practical and full of possibility.

The right partner will not only help fund bicycles, tutoring, or training days. They will help protect a space where girls can grow in confidence, strength and hope, on the road, in the classroom and in their own lives.
